UPDATE: Due to Hurricane Isaias, this event, originally scheduled for last weekend, is set for Aug. 8.

Yay for entertainment.

It’s out there, if you look for it. Very. Carefully.

Yes, you can actually leave your house and do a few things around town, but they’re not exactly activities you remember in Before Times.

Drive-in movies are popping up all over, for example, until we wait for the actual theaters to open. Regal Cinemas announced it would open its movie theaters in accordance with CDC guidelines on Aug. 21. Tick, tick.

Since we are dealing with a serious situation on a daily basis, we were pleased to see a comedy show is happening and that fun is not 100 percent canceled.

Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Dezerland Park. Be prepared to laugh. Yes, laugh.

Since the pandemic hit, the North Miami Beach venue transformed its parking lot into a drive in theater and now a comedy club.

DJ Laz will host “The Big Screen Comedy Drive In Show” with appearances by such hilarious talent as El Caballo, Cisco Duran and Gene Harding. Only in Dade is organizing so we have to assume the humor will be on trend.

We fully expect jokes that reflect 305 life as we know it seen in videos posted on OID’s Instagram page. Think car fires, anti-maskers and people in bikinis twerking on rooftops.

Details: The Big Screen Comedy Drive In Show, 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Dezerland Park, 14401 NE 19th Avenue; North Miami Beach, 786-590-5000; Event Brite; $50 per car.
