This new drive-in theater is Miami’s hottest ticket. Here’s how to go before it sells out

We get it. Daily trips to Publix with full-on PPE aren’t cutting it anymore.

We are all desperate to get out of our homes, but are only in Phase 1 of the reopening process.

But help is on the way (ish).

Earlier this week, the folks at Dezerland Park touted an intriguing option: a drive-in movie theater, starting over the Memorial Day weekend and running on weekends through July 3.

The North Miami action park houses super popular Ninja Lounge, which is temporarily closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. But Carflix Cinema is open for business in the parking lot for contactless family fun.

“We have created a safe environment where families can stay inside their vehicle with the windows closed and enjoy a wonderful night out,” Dezerland attorney Michael Pizzi told the Miami Herald.

The restroom situation? Portable bathrooms that will be sanitized after each use.

A quick scan of the website revealed tickets are going quickly. The Friday and Saturday showings for “Sonic The Hedgehog” at 5 p.m. and “Jurassic Park” at 8 are sold out.

As of Thursday afternoon, you could still get tickets for one flick: the 5 p.m. Sunday showing of “Sonic,” the 2020 adventure comedy based on the video game. Cha-ching!

Our advice: Hurry.

Movies will be shown on a 40-foot LED screen, with sound coming in through your car radio, a la “Happy Days.”

Cars will be organized by height; SUVs and pickup trucks will be placed in the last rows to allow smaller cars to see, says the Carflix website. No outside food and beverage will be allowed as they are for sale on premises.

Info: Carflix Cinema at Dezerland Park, 14401 NE 19th Ave., North Miami. carflixcinema.com. Each car is $30.
