This new Brickell hot spot on the Miami River is finally open for business
The new entertainment hot spot in Brickell is finally opening — but slowly.
Riverside, the 120,000-square-foot venue on the Miami River originally set to open last year, is opening in stages throughout February on the weekends.
Soon, you’ll be able to enjoy food from seven different restaurant concepts as well as outdoor activities. But right now, you might have to settle for just having a drink. Not such a bad compromise, is it?
Open now is the tap room, with its huge fermentation tanks and flat-screen TVs, thanks to Miami River Brewery. Also serving your favorite beverages is the main Riverside lounge (which, as luck would have it, is right on the river). There’s also the AWA Bar and the Tiki Bar, both of which are happy to help you get your drink on.
The dining concepts, once they’re open, will include two chef-driven, full-service restaurants: AWA Asian Cuisine, an Izakaya-style restaurant from Chef Gonzalo Arganaras, and Patio Rivera, which will serve upscale Mediterranean fare by Chef John Iatrellis.
If a casual dinner is more to your liking, you’ll have your choice of Cage, a casual concept from the team behind Le Chick; Lisboeta, a Portuguese seafood spot from the Miami restaurant Old Lisbon; Taco Gourmet by Chef Alex; and Crush Pizza Bar. You’ll also be able to get coffee and gelato at San Lorenzo Gelateria.
There’s no date yet for restaurant openings.
Will this place make our Brickell bucket list? Could be.
