At Broward’s last Fuddruckers, a roach on a prep table, loose garbage, ice machine mold
Of the five remaining Fuddruckers in Florida, four are in Miami-Dade (Hialeah, Kendall, Doral, Palmetto Bay) and one is in Pembroke Pines. A state inspector temporarily shut down the hamburger chain’s Broward location after seeing several issues.
The Shops at Pembroke Gardens Fuddruckers, 14532 SW Fifth St., apparently wasn’t just having a bad day. A customer complaint to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation brought the inspector, who found 11 total violations, two of which were High Priority.
Here are some lowlights of the Jan. 27 inspection report:
“Accumulation of black/green mold-like substance in the ice machine/bin.”
One roach was seen strutting across a cookline prep table. Three were seen crawling on a wall. Another four were moving on the floor behind a large garbage trunk.

The dishwashing machine lacked sanitizer.. The manager told the inspector more would be delivered the next day.
A dishwasher pipe was malfunctioning, causing standing water.
“Loose garbage, plates, straws and cups” littered the sides and the rear of the garbage dumpster.
Two drawers in a cookline warmer were “soiled with food spills and grease.”
The floor on the cookline corridor and under cooking equipment was “heavily soiled ... with food debris, and grease.”
A “hood filter is missing from the automatic fire suppression/exhaust system” on the left side of the cookline.
