This popular upscale Miami Beach steakhouse just opened a new spot in Aventura

Aventura, lately inundated with new restaurant concepts all around its popular mall, just added a new upscale steakhouse to the neighborhood.

STK Steakhouse is now open at the Esplanade at Aventura.

This is the second location for the brand from One Group Hospitality in Miami-Dade; its first, in Miami Beach, opened in 2015. A restaurant at Disney Springs in Orlando followed in 2016.

Aventura’s diverse and upscale clientele makes the city a perfect fit for the brand, according to Emanuel “Manny” Hilario, president and CEO of The One Group.

“We chose Aventura because it’s a dynamic, fast-growing area with a sophisticated clientele that appreciates high-quality dining experiences,” he said. “While other restaurants have certainly set a high standard in the neighborhood, we see an exciting opportunity to offer something different. STK is known not just for its exceptional steaks, but for its vibrant social atmosphere and modern twist on the classic steakhouse.”

The menu follows the course of other STK restaurants, featuring traditional steakhouse fare with what the brand is fond of calling “vibe dining.” This generally means a DJ and an upbeat, energetic atmosphere, as opposed to quiet and genteel dining.

The menu, of course, focuses mostly on prime cuts of meat — filets, skirt steak, Delmonicos, ribeyes and wagyu — but is also known for other specialties, like Maine lobster linguine, maple rubbed salmon, miso glazed Chilean sea bass and roasted rack of lamb.

The restaurant also features a robust happy hour all week long, with sliders, wagyu meatballs and short rib quesadillas.

STK Aventura, which has 29 locations around the country, joins several restaurants at the Esplanade, the 215,000-square-foot open air space next to the Aventura Mall. The development also includes the Patagonian-Italian spot The Amalfi Llama; Jarana Peruvian restaurant; Joey; and North Italia. The Esplanade is also home to Pinstripes, a bistro that offers bowling and bocce.
