After 3 years, this restaurant that replaced a popular Coral Gables hangout is closed
After almost three years, The Gramercy restaurant in Coral Gables has closed.
The Gramercy, a New York-style American brasserie at 65 Miracle Mile, opened in December of 2020 and was operated by the hospitality group behind the clubby Greek restaurant Kiki on the River, led by nightclub owner Roman Jones. The Gramercy closed for good the last week of September.
The look and atmosphere of the space mimicked that of the great New York power restaurants: big booths, exposed brick, striking columns and velvet banquettes. The menu specialized in robata grill fare (sea bass and salmon, ribeye and Tomahawk steaks) and also served sushi and tiradito.
The Gramercy took over the space once occupied by Tarpon Bend, a popular and usually crowded happy hour spot and weekend hangout for locals that closed in February 2019.
Meanwhile, though The Gramercy is no more, team representatives say they’re looking ahead to the future.
“We had a great run in Coral Gables, and are now focusing efforts on our upcoming openings; the new El Santo Cantina on Calle Ocho this month, and the upcoming opening of Habibi on The Miami River,” the team said in a statement.
