Eat a steaming bag of crab or lobster at this new Cajun seafood restaurant in Kendall

Prepare to get messy, Kendall. Messier than usual, that is.

Cajun restaurant Crab du Jour is now open at Kendall Village Center this week, bringing its famous Ultimate Seafood Boil so you can eat with your hands like we did in the good old days.

This is the second full dine-in location in South Florida for the Raleigh, N.C.-born chain, which has more than 80 locations across 15 states including South Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. There’s a Crab du Jour in Midtown Miami, plus a smaller express version in North Miami Beach for delivery and take-out only.

A third full dine-in location is scheduled to open in the coming months at 12075 SW 152nd St. at Deerwood Town Center in Miami.

At the Kendall location, you’ll find tables covered in butcher paper, just in case you’re sloppy (spoiler alert: you’ll be sloppy). You order a selection of seafood by the pound (clams, crawfish, shrimp, King Crab Legs, lobster), decide on the spice level and which sauce you want. Sauces include Du Jour special, original Cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper or Old Bay.

You can pick your choice of seafood - crab legs, crawfish, lobster, shrimp - for the Ultimate Seafood Boil.

The order arrives at your table in a steaming plastic bag, and then you can start ripping it apart caveman-style.

You don’t have to eat the Ultimate Boil, of course. Crab du Jour also offers appetizers and other main dishes, including po boys, Cajun wings, and fried oysters. You can even get a burger.
