On 420, we are all stoners. Here is how to eat (and drink) like one in Miami
Every stoner’s favorite holiday, 420, is upon us, and Miami restaurants are rising to the occasion.
As we all know, only medical marijuana is legal in the state of Florida.
But we are fans of eating ridiculous and delicious caloric foods, especially in this time of coronavirus quarantine, when the only way to survive another day is to eat your feelings and pretend your work clothes will still fit when this is over.
So celebrate April 20 with the over-the-top menu of your choice. Here are a few of the 420 specials around town. Don’t worry - your sweatpants will still be there for you afterward.
Night Owl Cookies
Night Owl Cookies feeds the cravings all year round with over-the-top cookies (including one with a croqueta stuffed inside, which still gives us nightmares). This year Night Owl is all about The Tiger King Cookie Edition of 420.
This includes the Cool Cat Snack (an entire raspberry doughnut inside a cookie with a red marbled white chocolate glaze) and Tigers Milk (signature dough stuffed with homemade Tres Leches ganache, topped with Frosted Flakes and finished with a Leche Condensada drizzle). Night Owl is also launching the Wake n Bacon (chocolate chip cookie topped with dulce de leche and dipped in candied bacon), which will be available all week long.
All cookies are $4.20 and available at both locations on April 20 (FIU: 10534 SW Eighth St., 786-360-5011; Design District, 164 NE 412st St., Miami; 305-530-8951)

Coyo Taco, the geniuses who will bring you a gallon of margaritas if you are so inclined, also have a special $4.20 menu: Purple Haze (hongos/mushroom tacos); OG Kush (pollo al carbon tacos); Sour Diesel (cochinita tacos) and Maui Wowie (churros that look amazing). You can get curbside pick-up or delivery all day April 20; order at coyo-taco.com, UberEats, Postmates or GrubHub.
