The French bakery that says it created the macaron is opening up a shop in Aventura

Can the already swanky Aventura mall get swankier?

Yes, it can. Of course it can.

Coming to the mall is the famous French luxury bakery Ladurée, which has a rich history beginning in 1862, when Louis Ernest Ladurée opened a bakery in Paris.

Fast forward to the present, and Ladurée’s macarons are now in Aventura. Known as the creator of the macaron - at least according to its website - the bakery will sell a variety of the gourmet desserts as well as pastries, chocolates, teas and other accessories.

There’s even a special limited-time Valentine’s Day collection that includes a heart-shaped “Super Macaron.” It’s filled with a sweet mango ganache with hints of turmeric and ginger.

Ladurée is set to open sometime in spring 2020. For now, you can try its desserts sold from a cart at the mall’s Nordstrom wing on the lower level near Tiffany’s.
