Beautiful desserts and world-class croissants were only the beginning for Coral Gables’ Bachour.

Now the restaurant and bakery by the man named Pastry Chef of the Year by Esquire is opening his spot for dinner, too. Antonio Bachour’s bright and open bakery at 2020 Salzedo Street will add dinner Tuesday through Saturday, with everything from sandwiches and salads to entrees.

“We have had a great demand for dinner service so we accommodated our customers with a full dinner menu that will include, of course, our signature selection of sweets,” Bachour wrote in a release.

Bachour the man became an unexpected Instagram star — or rather, his desserts did — for his intricate, mirror-glazed, three dimensional edible works of art. And his baked goods are easily among the best in South Florida. He quickly spread from a spot in Brickell to a station in Little River’s The Citadel to the Gables. However, the spot in The Citadel lasted less than a year after opening in February.

For dinner, Bachour’s restaurant adds a wide variety of safe options, from his versions Cuban- and steak sandwiches to braised short ribs, roasted chicken and cacio e pepe and filet mignon.
