Fresh off this month’s news that they’ll open a branch of Pubbelly Sushi in downtown Miami’s massive Brickell City Centre, the Pubbelly Boys rolled up another announcement: Pubbelly Sushi is going international, to the Dominican Republic.
The Boys (Jose Mendin, Sergio Navarro and Andreas Schreiner), along with Pubbelly Sushi partner Yuki Ieto, will open Pubbelly Sushi at the island nation’s Casa de Campo resort by the end of the year.

Located at the resort’s marina, Pubbelly Sushi will offer much the same menu as at the original in Miami Beach (1424 20th St.), including tuna pizza, tostones with hamachi ceviche, and yellowtail roll in soy paper. The Casa de Campo outpost will source local produce and seafood from the La Romana area.
The Pubbelly Boys’ current portfolio of restaurants, besides Pubbelly Sushi, includes Pubbelly (1418 20th St.) and Barceloneta (1400 20th St.), both in Miami Beach.
The group soon will open PB Station and Pawn Broker (121 SE First St.) in downtown Miami. It has signed on to open a Pubbelly Sushi in Miami’s Brickell City Centre next year, and the restaurant group is pursuing additional expansion to two locations in Mexico. Also new: a Pubbelly-themed food hall aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s new Escape, set to begin sailing from November in Miami. Two other Pubbelly concepts in Miami Beach, PB Steak and L’echon Brasserie, closed in July 2014 and July 2015, respectively.
