From Tulum with love: A hip cocktail lounge has just relocated to Miami. Take a look
Tulum’s loss is Miami’s gain.
Osmio Lounge, straight from the hotter than hot Mexican tourist destination, just relocated to Wynwood.
Master mixologist Brian Diaz, who created the original concept, apparently always had dreams of expanding the experience to Miami. The industry vet teamed up with hospitality group Dirty Rabbit (Mad Live, La Tiendita Taqueria), to bring the venue to life.
Fortunately, Diaz is still behind the bar, whipping up his signature delish concoctions that the native Colombian picked up during his vast travels and time living in Australia.
Among the popular cocktails from Diaz’s “lab” is the Death by Tequila. You’ll have to use your imagination there.
Other suggested cocktails include the Esmerelda (Monkey Shoulder, plum, hibiscus tea and sea moss); the Dreamland (Hendricks gin, fresh basil, cucumber and house green bitters); and the Volcano (ginger-spiced whiskey with smoked cinnamon, pasilla syrup and house cacao bitters).
To soak up all that booze is a tidy tapas menu, with items starting at just $5. Pick among such savory bar faves as guac and chips, cheese tequeños and crispy tuna tacos.
The atmosphere is more or less made for the ‘Gram, with plush pillows everywhere, gossamer drapes and groovy purple lighting. One risque posing station is a fancy couch that has a sign above it that says, “I don’t have a dirty mind. I have a sexy imagination.”
Diaz is thrilled about the evocative new spot right in the heart of the action.
“This concept is a labor of love inspired by the enchanting vibes of Tulum,” he said. “We are confident that Osmio will become a staple in Miami’s nightlife, offering a unique blend of mystique, energy, and exceptional mixology.”
