Bada bing

Sopranos star Tony Sirico, who played mobster Paulie Walnuts on the long running HBO show, was in town to celebrate the opening of Vic & Angelo’s in South Beach. We talked to him on the red carpet:

Ready to eat some Italian food?

Let me tell ya, when I come to Florida I eat at Vic and Angelos and when I’m in New York I only eat at Rao’s; it’s peasant food. It’s what your mother used to make. Forget about that gourmet with the green on the sauce. It just never made sense to me.

What’s next for you?

I’m doing a film in March with Ellen Burstyn, I play a detective and bada bing!

Having fun with it?

Oh yeah, I also just did a film in San Diego with Christopher Lloyd a comedy called ‘Sports Heaven’ where I play a grumpy old high school football coach, and Christopher Lloyd plays God. (Laughs) So you know the deal. I get in trouble with the lord.

Do you miss the ‘Sopranos’ at all?

We’re going to do a movie. Don’t ask me when, but I can tell you it’s in the air. It’s in the air.
