Filmmaker Billy Corben to roast local politicians -- because Miami
A belated congratulations due to Hurricane Irma. That windy beast was selected to perform in Comic Cure’s 2017 Brickell Comedy Festival (www.BrickellComedyFestival.com) tonight.
But seriously, folks. For the fest, called “Inside Joke with Billy Corben,” other topics near and dear to us Miamians will be covered, mostly local politics.
And it’s all for charity! This year’s roast will again benefit Engage Miami, whose mission is to increase youth engagement. The evening’s house band is Guitars Over Guns (GOGO), which delivers high impact arts-based mentoring programs to empower at-risk youth,
Miami.com editrex Amy Reyes will be one of the comedians. She’ll be doing a sure to be hilarious schtick with radio personality Lucy Lopez.
Judges include Daniel Kahn, candidate for Miami Beach mayor; Miami-Dade County Commissioner Daniela Levine Cava and City of Miami Beach Commissioner Ricky Arriola.
