Remember the shark-dragging video? It just got a new MTV show’s premiere party canceled.

We think Miami has problems….well, this time another city is in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

MTV’s reality show Siesta Key – set over in Sarasota — has got quite  bit of drama surrounding it.

A premiere party Monday had to be canceled after one of the show’s stars received death threats, reports The Tampa Bay Times

The target of the threat was Alex Kompothecras, whose father Dr. Gary Kompothecras produces the series about eight wealthy young people hanging out in Siesta Key for the summer at the celebrity chiropractor’s mansion.

According to his bio, Alex is “a guy’s guy — with better toys than you’ll ever have and he knows how to fix them when they break.”

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WTF IS GOING ON HERE ???? JUST GOT THIS ON MY FEED ! SENT FROM @bearjew428 AND @MICHAELWENZEL .FOR ONCE I MAY HAVE TO AGREE WITH @PETA. #WHODOESTHISSHIT #sowrong #notcool

The young man is under attack due to his friendship with one of the four men who appeared in the viral video of the shark being dragged behind a boat. Miami’s Mark the Shark posted it on Instagram for all to see.

Animal activists organized a protest, and hate began to pour in on social media.

Seems canceling the premiere was a good call.
