Gloria Estefan makes her debut on Glee

Tune in Tuesday night for local star Gloria Estefan’s debut on Glee. She is not only a Gleek, but has other motives. Her daughter Emily, 17, is also a huge fan of the show. Estefan guest stars as Santana Lopez’s mother Maribel on the graduation finale. But alas, doesn’t sing. Fuzzy on the plot? Santana, played by Naya Rivera, came out as a lesbian to her grandmother, who kicks her out in disgust. Maribel appears as the seniors prepare to get their diplomas and finalize their post-grad life. This is not the first Gloria, 54, has acted. Among her credits: TV’s Frasier and the 1999 teaching movie,  Music of the Heart, alongside Meryl Streep.
