They didn’t even have a chance to go Instagram official.

Influencer Kat Stickler and soft-rock star John Mayer have quietly split, according to widespread media reports. These two were first linked starting around September of last year.

The breakup not heard around the world occurred a few months ago, according to UsWeekly.

Reason, please?

An insider told the gossip outlet that nothing major like cheating went down, just that Stickler, 31, and Mayer, 48, “fizzled out.”

“It wasn’t a dramatic split,” the insider added. “They realized they have very different lifestyles, but it was a lot of fun while it lasted.”

Geography may have played a part, too, as we scan the latest airport delays.

Stickler, who was born in Miami and graduated from the University of Florida, lives in the Tampa area. The content creator has to stay put because she co-parents her 6-year-old daughter Mary Katherine (MK) with ex-husband, businessman Mike Stickler, in the same city.

As for Mayer, the longtime bachelor who is best friends with Andy Cohen, calls New York City home. Gotham’s about a three-hour plane ride away, even with a private jet. Moreover, the “Your Body is a Wonderland” singer doesn’t exactly have a rep for settling down for the long haul. Though Mayer shockingly admitted on Kelly Rizzo’s “Comfort Food” podcast in early 2024 that he’s changing his ways.

“I’m pretty well-adjusted and ready to go at any moment,” the Grammy winner told late comic Bob Saget’s wife, adding he “so badly” wants to be married. (The heartthrob’s shocker of a quote is at around the 6:40 mark, ladies.)

Back to the past. Don’t look for any insight about Mayer’s fling on Stickler’s social media.

Unfortunately, though she regularly documents such daily activities as caffeine consumption, stressful traffic and single mommying on her feeds, no Mayer cameo ever popped up.

Stickler may or may not have hinted about the end of the relationship in April, joking about an ex-boyfriend.

In the highly watched skit, she gets a text that reads, “You just lost the best thing in your life.’” Stickler then runs looking scared into her daughter’s bedroom, relieved to find the child there.

An empathetic follower wrote in the comments: “I think that’s why men are so scared of dating moms. Can’t hurt us, babe, we know real love.”

The bright spot in all of this? Mayer and Stickler really do still appear to be friends.

Telltale proof in the modern tech era: Both still follow each other on Instagram.
