Brooklyn Beckham’s in-laws got sued over their pet. Here’s an update
Family drama continues to surround Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz.
But the latest saga has nothing to do with Brooklyn’s ongoing rift with his famous parents, David and Victoria Beckham (more on that later). It’s the aspiring chef’s in-laws, who are based in Palm Beach.
Nicola’s parents, billionaire Nelson and his ex-model wife Claudia Heffner, were sued over the family pet about a year and a half ago. It was settled Tuesday, but the negative story is out there.
According to court files, former housekeeper Mileydis Morejon sued her former boss in December 2024 in Palm Beach County. The woman alleges that in November 2023 she’d been attacked by the family dog named Houdini at least three times while on the job at the sprawling estate.
The Daily Mail notes that the Peltzes adopted Houdini from their daughter’s animal shelter in L.A. called Yogi’s House, and added that the “Last Airbender” star was originally supposed to sit for a deposition in the case.
In one instance, Morejon alleges the pit-bull mix lunged at her “without provocation” and ripped her clothes; on another occasion, she had to fight off the animal with a vacuum cleaner.
The suit says that the Peltzes had a duty to keep visitors to their home safe from harm and to both train and restrain their dog, which had a “vicious disposition.”
As a result, the worker’s injuries resulted in “physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, inconvenience, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, loss of earnings” and more, says the suit. Morejon was seeking at least $75,000 in damages, plus loss of earnings and medical bills.
Peltz’s legal team contended that there was indeed a “Beware of Dogs” sign at the entrance and continued to deny liability. But on April 30, the plaintiff’s lawyers filed a notice of settlement to Palm Beach County Circuit Court, and the case was dismissed on May 5.
While that’s now behind them, Brooklyn’s dispute with his folks continues to rage on. The drama began as far as back as April 2022, during his nuptials to the heiress-actress at the Peltz mansion.
In early 2026, Brooklyn broke his silence as to why he was no longer speaking to the soccer god and Spice Girl, with one of the main reasons being the way Victoria behaved “inappropriately” at the reception. Some witnesses corroborate that their mother-son dance was cringe-y, while others didn’t notice anything amiss.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” the hot-sauce entrepreneur wrote in a lengthy Instagram diatribe. “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.”
The Beckhams, who sold their crash pad in One Museum Tower in downtown Miami, but maintain a spec house in Miami Beach, are said to be heartbroken about the estrangement.
There is zero estrangement going on with the bride’s side of the family, however. Nelson Peltz even officiated the couple’s vow renewal ceremony in August 2025 at the tycoon’s compound in Westchester, New York. No one on the Beckham side was apparently invited.
