Inside Venus Williams’ engagement party in South Florida: ‘Memories’
A time was had by all. But if you got the invite to Venus Williams’ South Florida wedding to her Italian hunk Andrea Preti around the holidays last year, you already knew that.
The tennis champ tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at her sprawling beachside Jupiter Island mansion on Dec. 20.
But her engagement party, held at the house a few months before, was apparently pretty special, too. Fans can see for themselves in Williams’ throwback “Memories” post to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the pre-nuptials bash. The 45-year-old athlete shared a bunch of never before seen snaps from the fancy gathering, April 4.
Naturally, there’s a shot of the happy couple embracing as Williams, in a sparkling, high-neck dress, holds a mic, likely after or before a speech. No doubt that money shot got framed.
Other pictures give an inside look at the grand affair, whose guests included little sister Serena, 44, looking slim and sleek in a white corset top and silky pink skirt. The tables are draped in white, decorated with flowers and candles, surrounded by trees glittering with little lights.
The top of a menu is also included in the carousel: “Tonight’s starters set the tone for something unforgettable,” it reads. “An evening steeped in love, flavor and the quiet magic of new beginnings.”
We have to assume the theme of the dinner was Italian, a nod to Preti, 37. One dish you can see a peek of is “Colony Caprese,” heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and capers in a balsamic-basil vinaigrette.
In the comments, Preti writes just one word to his wife, along with three heart emojis: “Noi,” translated into English as “Us.”
