When will Diddy be sprung from prison? Disgraced rapper gets a date
Sean “Diddy” Combs can start marking his calendar. There’s an end in sight to his time behind bars.
The Bureau of Prisons’ website posted his release date as May 8, 2028. You can see his status for yourself by searching up his name in the inmate database (Register Number: 37452-054). The site still says Combs is incarcerated at Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he’s been since his September 2024 arrest.
His lawyers are arguing for their client to be transferred to minimum security facility in Fort Dix, New Jersey, which has an in-house drug rehab program. During his trial, the 55-year-old father of seven revealed in an apology letter that his time in prison was the first time he’d been sober in “25 years.”
The fallen music mogul was sentenced to 50 months following his conviction on two prostitution-related charges. He was acquitted on more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.
This latest bit of information arrives after his legal team said they planned to appeal the sentence.
The lawyers are arguing that the punishment was too harsh and the ruling improper because U.S. District Court Judge Arun Subramanian doubled as a “13th juror.” There has been no word on the status of the appeal.
In addition to the 50 months, Combs will have to do five years of supervised release and pay a $500,000 fine.
It’s unclear where the Harlem native will go, but it’s more than likely he’ll return to his Star Island compound, as he put his Los Angeles mansion up for sale, but it has yet to find a buyer after a year.
