Diddy shared a mysterious post, then quickly deleted it. So, what does it mean?
Blink and you may have missed a fleeting message from Sean “Diddy” Combs Friday evening.
The embattled rapper, who was acquitted earlier this month of the most serious charges against him in a federal sex-crimes trial in NYC, shared an eyes emoji on X, formerly Twitter.
At least a few outlets, like TMZ, got a screenshot of the 8:36 p.m. post, which received almost 200,000 views. Then, poof, like that, it was gone.
So, first head scratcher: What did the suspicious eyeball post mean? Is there a hidden message about Combs’ upcoming sentencing set for October?
Or perhaps it was a delayed reaction to the Justice Department’s recent firing of Maurene Comey from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. The daughter of former FBI director James Comey headed the team against Combs and also prosecuted Ghislaine Maxwell, the former associate of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Second head scratcher: Would Combs even have access to social media from behind bars?
Actually, yes. At Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where that fallen mogul is encarcerated, prisoners can use the Internet on a very limited basis.
Last October, Combs sent a birthday message on Instagram to his youngest child, Love, whose mother is one of his exes, cybersecurity expert Dana Tran. The tot was turning 2.
A former MDC inmate told UsWeekly that everyone is allotted 300 minutes a month (including phone calls) to reach out to the outside world, and “e-mail is timed at like five cents a minute.”
As per the detention center’s website, the reason for the digital privileges is to “maintain ties” and to “improve the likelihood of a successful re-entry into the community, thus reducing the potential for recidivism.”
There is also the distinct possibility a family member knows the hip hopper’s password.
