If you took a trip to Home Depot in Hollywood to grab a wrench, nail gun or some mulch on Wednesday afternoon, you were probably out of luck.

The massive store on Oakwood Boulevard hosted a famous visitor and things got a little cray, as per video posted by Only in Dade.

That would be F1 star Carlos Sainz Jr., in town for the Miami Grand Prix at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens all weekend.

The clip begins with Sainz, flanked by security guards, getting escorted to the front of the store, with excited looking customers taking his pic. A woman pushes a hat toward him to autograph with a Sharpie (“Please!”), but the Spaniard keeps it moving.

Outside in the parking lot, even more fans are gathered behind steel barriers, screaming his name and just basically freaking out.

A guard yells “Back up!” as Sainz climbs into a waiting SUV.

So did the Atlassian Williams Racing driver just need a few tools? Naw. Turns out the 30-year-old was making a promotional appearance for Duracell.

Home Depot shoppers had already been alerted via social media that the first 75 people to buy a pack of batteries and bring their receipt to the Duracell booth on Wednesday starting at 11 a.m. would score a wristband to meet Sainz.

The next time locals can catch the speed demon is at the Miami International Autodrome. Sainz will be in the F1 Sprint (half hour) race on Saturday and the actual main event on Sunday.

Didn’t snag tickets to the grandstand? There’s a free, four day F1 fan fest in Wynwood kicking off 4 p.m. Thursday, and you can watch the action safely on TV.
