Telenovela star William Levy just got arrested in Broward County. Here’s what we know
More police drama for William Levy.
Almost a year after cops responded to his Southwest Ranches home over an alleged domestic disturbance, the actor has had another encounter with the law.
According to Broward jail records, Levy was taken into custody on Monday and booked on charges of disorderly intoxication in a public place and trespassing in an occupied structure or conveyance.
As of Tuesday afternoon, jail records show the 44-year-old telenovela star remained in Broward Main Jail on a $500 bond.
Levy’s previous run in with law enforcement — though dramatic — didn’t result in an arrest.
Last March, the native Cuban and his ex Elizabeth Gutierrez, 46, were involved in a viral imbroglio outside of the home the parents of two once shared.
Bodycam footage taken on the scene last year show officers from the Davie Police Department talking to Gutierrez. The former model told them their daughter Kailey had entered the home to retrieve an item and saw a strange woman who attempted to “hide.” The teenager also accused her father of pushing her. After Levy lets them into the house for a search, the cops come out, saying they found no one but a house cleaner.
“There were no marks, redness or signs of injury which would indicate a physical altercation,” said the official report. “The physical contact between William and [his daughter] was not intentional, therefore no crime occurred.”
The actor/restaurateur later released a statement regarding the drama, assuring his fans nothing negative had transpired.
“It’s my house, I was alone. Kailey knocks on the door, I don’t know what’s happening. I don’t push her, I put my hand there [to prevent it from opening] ... You can’t come in here, this is my room, my privacy.”
Gutierrez also spoke out on social media at the time, saying, in part:
“Despite our problems, he is the man I will always love and wish the best for,” the actress wrote. “If my greatest defect is loving the father of my children, I prefer that feeling to be love and not hate.”
