Is Jeff Bezos getting married this weekend? The Miami billionaire just broke his silence
Is he or isn’t he?
Last week, The Daily Mail reported that Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez were finally set to tie the knot the weekend after Christmas in Aspen.
“Well placed” sources from the resort town told the outlet that the Amazon founder had bought out the upscale Japanese restaurant Matsuhisa for either one or two nights of festivities. The “winter wonderland” themed wedding was to take place at Kevin Costner’s massive ranch on Saturday. The tab for the whole shindig? Right around $600 million.
But after multiple outlets picked up the story, Bezos took to X to shoot it down.
The 60-year-old Palmetto Senior High alum replied to a post from financier Bill Ackman, who had his doubts that the story was real because no nuptials could cost that much.
“This whole thing is completely false — none of this is happening,” Bezos wrote. “The old adage ‘don’t believe everything you read’ is even more true today than it ever has been.”
Welp. If indeed Bezos and Sanchez were planning on having their big day there, we don’t see that happening now.
So when then? And where? The Indian Creek Village residents have been pretty tight-lipped as to when they will become man and wife, and they certainly don’t seem in any rush.
Back in November, when Sanchez appeared on the “Today” show to talk about what she and Bezos are doing to combat homelessness, she gave very few details.
“How’s wedding planning?” co-host Savannah Guthrie slyly slipped in during the end of the interview.
“So, you asked,” the 55-year-old replied, adding that she already had some thoughts about her dress.
“I have to say. I do have a Pinterest. I’m just like every other bride.”
