‘How you doin’?’ Wendy Williams spotted outside Florida restaurant amid health battles
Been worried about Wendy Williams? The former talk show host, who’s been out of the public eye reportedly due to ongoing health issues, seems A-OK.
Williams, who is rumored to call Florida home now, was spotted in the backseat of a black SUV in a video on Instagram posted on Sunday by blogger Antoine Edwards. The caption says the 60 year old is with her nephew, who is picking up food from Sho’nuff Oysters in Fort Lauderdale.
Miami.com reached out to the seafood restaurant — which reshared the clip on its Stories — for more details, but did not immediately hear back.
“How you doin’, Wendy WIlliams?” a woman filming the interaction asks the former radio star, who is smiling in full makeup and a blonde wig. “You look good!”
The rare sighting comes a few weeks after the TV star’s legal guardian Sabrina Morrissey claimed in court documents that Williams was “cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated.”
The filing is part of an ongoing lawsuit her legal team filed against A&E Television Networks, attempting to block the release of the Lifetime docuseries “Where is Wendy Williams?” The shocking two-part show followed the Hollywood vet’s downward spiral since stepping down from her eponymous talk show in 2021.
Two days before its premiere, Williams’ reps released a “very personal update,” revealing her official diagnosis of aphasia, a condition affecting language and communication abilities, as well as frontotemporal dementia, a progressive disorder impacting behavior and cognitive functions.
“Over the past few years, questions have been raised at times about Wendy’s ability to process information and many have speculated about Wendy’s condition, particularly when she began to lose words, act erratically at times, and have difficulty understanding financial transactions,” read the statement.
Williams has been under a court-ordered guardianship since April 2022 because of her health issues.
Fans were happy to see the New Jersey native in fine form, flooding Sunday’s post.
“We miss you, Wendy!”
“Just to see her smiling face makes my heart smile.”
“She doesn’t look or sound permanently incapacitated.”
