Diddy’s voice was just heard for the first time from behind bars. Here’s the reason

Sean “Diddy” Combs had a very different kind of birthday this year.

The disgraced rapper, who turned 55 on Monday, remains behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn on no bond.

At least he got to celebrate with family, just not in person. A post on his Instagram account showed six of his seven kids gathered around talking to him on a cellphone.

“THIS MADE MY DAY,” said the all-caps caption.

Quincy, 33; Justin, 30; Christian, 26; twins D’Lila and Jessie, 17; and Love, 2, all took turns talking to him on speakerphone while sitting at a table topped with a cake. Oldest daughter Chance, 18, was not there, but on a different phone.

The toddler sang “Happy Birthday” to Daddy as best she could and blew out the candle — then smashed her face into the red velvet frosting as the others laughed.

In the first audio heard since his shocking arrest on sex trafficking charges, Combs sounds positive.

“I love you all so much. I can’t wait to see y’all, and I just want to say I’m proud of y’all,” Combs said. “Especially the girls. I mean, all ya’ll. Thank you all for being strong, for being my side and supporting me. I got the best family in the world... I’m happy. Thank you very much.”

Quincy (whose biological father is singer Al B Sure) lightens the mood by telling Combs that Love is eating all the cake.

“Pops, you’re not going to have none left.”

“Get it, Love!” Combs responds, laughing.

The embattled singer added that he couldn’t wait to see them in a “few days.” It’s unclear where the group was during the call, but most are based in Los Angeles.

The comments on Monday’s post were surprisingly left on, and for the most part, his followers expressed that they felt sorry for Combs, or at the very least, the situation.

As one social media user summed up: “End of the day this man is their father, let these kids be kids! This is sweet and sad at the same time. Praying for these children.”
