Local drag queen Morphine Love Dion is on the mend after a serious car crash last month.

The season 16 “RuPaul’s Drag Race” contestant was in Los Angeles for a convention when her Uber was involved in a multiple car pileup on the 10 freeway in the early hours of July 21.

One person died in the violent wreck; six, including Morphine, were injured and transported to area hospitals.

At the time a statement on her social media said that Morphine had “suffered multiple injuries,” but was grateful to be alive.

This week, the Hialeah native was able to give an update on her condition on her own. After thanking everyone for the get well wishes, the entertainer reported that she suffered a fractured collarbone as well as jaw injury that was so severe she lost teeth and required surgery.

While Morphine continues her recovery at home in Miami, she is requesting her fans give her time to heal so that she can go back to being her fabulous self.

“I love you all so so so much,” Morphine wrote in both English and Spanish, “and hope to be back doing what I love very soon.”
