Miami drag queen in a ‘gut-wrenching’ car accident, suffered multiple injuries: report
Local drag queen Morphine Love Dion is recovering from a serious car accident that occurred early Sunday morning in Los Angeles.
A statement on the entertainer’s Instagram Stories on Monday said that Morphine was traveling in an Uber at the time.
“She suffered multiple injuries but is grateful to be alive,” said the post. “Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Some space and time is appreciated as she focuses on healing.”
The season 16 “RuPaul’s Drag Race” contestant, who is originally from Hialeah and based in Miami, was on the West Coast to attend RuPaul’s annual convention, DragCon.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. on the 10 freeway in the Jefferson Park area of L.A.
As per local news, the California Highway Patrol responded to a solo vehicle crash that turned into a massive pile-up, in which one person died and six individuals were hurt and transported to area hospitals.
In the Uber with Morphine — who appeared on the most recent season of the MTV reality show — was “Canada’s Drag Race” star Kaos, who is also recovering from her injuries, EW reported.
Uber released a statement after the deadly crash: “Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this gut-wrenching crash. We are working to get in touch with the driver and riders to check on their well-being.”
