Shakira was shooting a scene for her new music video. Along came a four-legged creature

Shakira shared a terrifying clip on Instagram of what she had to deal with while shooting the music video for her latest single, “Copa Vacía” (Empty Cup).
In one snippet, the Colombian superstar, dressed as a mermaid, writhes around in a puddle on a filthy, trash-laden street.

Suddenly, a large gray rat appears and scurries toward her, scampering over to her long, pink wig as Shak screams and darts away.
“Cosas que le pasan hasta a las sirenas,” joked the caption in Spanish, translated to, “Things that happen even to mermaids.”
It’s unclear if the rat was a paid extra or had just made its way onto the soundstage at Parc Audiovisual de Catalunya in Barcelona, where the video was made back in March.

Shak recently told Univision’s “Primer Impacto” that one day the set flooded after a giant fish tank they constructed broke, but, because she was trapped in the suit, couldn’t just walk out on her own. The 46-year-old superstar said they eventually called in a crane to rescue her.
The single, a duet with reggaetonero Manuel Turizo, and video both dropped Thursday, one of many recent songs Shakira has released since her scandalous split from soccer star Gerard Pique and subsequent move back to Miami.
