Yellow Green Farmers Market in Hollywood was just named one of the best farmers’ markets in the country.

Travel website Holidu, which specializes in vacation rentals, took a look around the United States to consider more than 1,500 farmers’ markets from all states and proclaimed that Yellow Green was the second-best farmers’ market in all the land.

“This market was renovated very recently to double the amount of available stalls and gives more local vendors the opportunity to bring their products to the community,” the website wrote.

“Head over to discover everything local Hollywood farmers have to offer: fresh produce, seafood, delicious baked goods, and much more. The market also has several stalls selling organic and handmade products, as well as food booths serving international cuisine. Yellow Green Farmers Market has become a real hub of activity for the local community, and a beloved attraction for many tourists, with music performances, events and even yoga classes being organized on the regular.”

The giant indoor-outdoor market, which opened in 2010, is kid- and pet-friendly, with around 350 booths. When it reopened in the wake of the COVID pandemic shutdown, it returned with new vendors, several new tiki huts to provide shelter from sun and storms and more outdoor space (which means more barbecue for everybody).

Yellow Green market was one of only two Florida markets in the top 30 (also making an appearance is Cape Coral Farmers Market at No. 25).

The best in the country is Seattle’s famous Pike Place Market, one of the oldest in the country and a popular tourist attraction that has been “bringing fresh produce and other locally made products to the community since 1907,” Holidu writes. Also on the top 10 list: markets in Asheville, N.C.; Ballard, Washington; Gilbert, Arizona; Davenport, Iowa; Kalamazoo, Michigan; Oakland, California; Cedar Park, Texas; and Beloit, Wisconsin.

To come up with the list, Holidu considered the markets’ average rating on Google, the amount of reviews, and the variety of products available. The final ranking was drawn up using the USDA database and Google data.
