Trader Joe’s in Coral Gables is finally opening. Time to stock up on Two Buck Chuck
Another one!
Miami always has room for more Trader Joe’s supermarkets, known for its fun food and drink options with decent price tags.
On Friday, at 8 a.m. sharp, a new location opened in Coral Gables with a brief ribbon cutting, samples and live music.
Excited? You should be. Unlike the store just a mile or so south in Dadeland/Pinecrest, there will be no parking lot traffic jams here. Trader Joe’s building, which also houses the massive Life Time gym, has a multi-level garage with ample spaces for all.
This latest store should give Publix a run for its money. A TJ’s opened up on Alton Road in Miami Beach in the summer of 2019, and lines there are still out the door.
Perhaps you fancy a little retail therapy after shopping for the signature Two Buck Chuck wine? This latest Joe’s, at 211 S. Dixie Highway, is directly adjacent to the Shops at Merrick Park.
The roughly 9,600 square-foot space will keep things super local, featuring artwork and displays that pay tribute to such Gables landmarks as Miracle Mile, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Venetian Pool and Biltmore Hotel.
And, as always, there’s a nice philanthropic bonus here: The California based company managed to hire 85 percent of its staff from the area, and will donate 100 percent of (still good) products that go unsold to nonprofit, community-based organizations every day.
We can already taste the Speculoos Cookie Butter.
