If you’re going to show off your cooking prowess on a major show like “Today,” then you’d better bring your A- game.

But many viewers felt that amateur chef Brooklyn Beckham fell a bit short Wednesday morning.

Since the pandemic, the 22-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham has been creating meals in his kitchen for his followers. Fiancée Nicola Peltz helps film him in the kitchen and post the bits on Instagram. The couple live part time in Palm Beach.

For his national small-screen debut, Brooklyn partook in a cooking segment alongside hosts Hoda Kotb and Carson Daly. The Brit’s creation: an English breakfast sandwich. Think of it as a heartier Egg McMuffin with zero cheese.

According to the “Today” show website, the ingredients include two eggs, country sausage, English bacon and ketchup on white bread. If you want to re-create it yourself, the site adds that the sandwich takes just about five minutes to prep.

“This was a dish I learned from my great-grandma, and I cherish it because it reminds me of my childhood,” said Beckham. “It’s a traditional English breakfast sandwich and I love making my American friends try this English staple.”

After the segment (peppered with awkward silences and questions about his tattoos), Twitter reacted, naturally.

Many seemed perturbed that Brooklyn didn’t make anything more complicated or gourmet. Others couldn’t help but be bitter that the guest was only chosen due to his famous parents.

UK journalist Dan Wootton called the demo “painful” to watch.

Resident meanie Piers Morgan wrote: “Worst, most unutterably pointless segment in morning television history?”

Another social media user complained that the sandwich was prepared “for reasons unknown” and it was “something a little brother would make if forced to cook.“

“Gordon Ramsay better watch his back!” commented a jokester.

Someone even went to the trouble to make a meme of Rachel McAdams’ character Regina from “Mean Girls: ”Of all the qualified but struggling chefs, cooks and restaurants in this country, the @TODAYshow wants to showcase a nobody, Brooklyn Beckham. Who can’t even put a proper sandwich together. Stop trying to make Beckham happen. He is the equivalent of ‘fetch.’”
