Univision reporter on her coronavirus diagnosis: I was careful but got it anyway
Another Univision television reporter has tested positive for coronavirus.
“Univision Noticias” personality Lourdes Del Río confirmed her diagnosis on Instagram Wednesday.
Colleague Clarissa Molina (“El Gordo y La Flaca”) announced that she took two tests (one home, one in a lab) to verify that she had coronavirus and confirmed her unfortunate news Tuesday.
As for Del Río, the veteran correspondent is at home quarantining and so far feels few symptoms.
In the somber post, the 55-year-old journalist said she was surprised she contracted COVID-19 despite taking the proper precautions. Her husband, Juan Ramírez Ferrer, fortunately, does not have the highly contagious illness.
“I took care of myself, but the coronavirus caught me, anyway,” she wrote. “I am in my house, isolated, because my husband’s test came out negative, thank God.”
The native of Puerto Rico went on to thank her fans for their well wishes and said she will keep them updated on her health.
On Thursday morning on “El Gordo y La Flaca,” Univision colleague Lili Estefan sent her best wishes.
Estefan went on to tell viewers that Univision is doing all it can to make sure everyone stays well in the Doral studio, including a full sanitizing and maintaining a six foot distance from another.
