This Univision personality tested positive with a home COVID-19 kit. Now it’s confirmed
UPDATE: Clarissa Molina told “El Gordo y La Flaca” viewers on Monday that she tested positive for coronavirus a second time. Her symptoms are fairly typical (headache, loss of taste and smell and upset stomach), but she said she feels fortunate the virus has not attacked her lungs.
Another TV reporter has contracted COVID-19. Or at least she thinks she did.
But the “El Gordo y La Flaca” personality and onetime “Nuestra Belleza Latina” star is doing OK. More than OK. She feels 100 percent.
On Monday, the former beauty queen appeared on the show via Skype, telling hosts Raul de Molina and Lili Estefan that she took a nasal swab at home and the Lab Corp results came back “abnormal.”
Despite having no symptoms, Molina said she took the home test out of “curiosity.” She showed viewers the screenshot on her phone.
Molina later posted on Instagram that she would be retaking a COVID-19 test in an actual laboratory and would reveal the results soon.
“Thank you, family for your messages and good wishes,” wrote the Dominican journalist. “I feel good, thank God, so far I have no symptoms.”
Let’s hope it stays that way.
In recent days, nine employees from the WPLG newsroom have tested positive, including anchors Louis Aguirre and Nicole Perez and chief meteorologist Betty Davis.
