‘Horrible virus’: Local 10 meteorologist Betty Davis back home after hospital stay
At last, some good news for Miami.
Betty Davis is home from the hospital, recuperating from coronavirus.
The Local 10 chief meteorologist wrote on Facebook that she was discharged on Thursday.
Next a picture of a bouquet of flowers she thanked her friends and followers for their concern.
“Thank you for your prayers and well-wishes. I am home from the hospital continuing my recovery,” read her post. “I believe brighter, healthier days are ahead for me and everyone else battling this horrible virus.”
Davis gave words of encouragement to those who are also in the fight against COVID-19 as cases continue to spike in Florida.
“No matter how dark things may seem right now, God is working. That is what I continue to repeat aloud.”
The journalist ended her post with a plea that people continue to wear masks to help slow the spread of the disease.
“I wish you peace, joy and the ability to understand why you need to put that mask on and act responsibly— show that you care for those around you.”
As for her Local 10 colleagues who reportedly contracted coronavirus, anchor Louis Aguirre has since tested negative, the station announced.
Anchor Nicole Perez and her reporter husband Roy Ramos are on the mend as well, they reported on social media Thursday.
The couple quarantined for almost two weeks at home.
“We feel sooo much better!” wrote Perez. “I barely ever hear Roy cough which is a blessing.. I have had no nausea whatsoever in a few days & no head aches!! I still can’t taste anything which is annoying.. but I am riding my bike daily which feels great!!”
She joked that they had moved onto the boredom stage of quarantine and asked for TV watching recommendations.
Any suggestions?
Perez and Ramos will get retested to see if they are negative and can return to work.
“Keep us in your prayers because Lord knows it’s what has gotten us this far.”
