Another television personality is ill with coronavirus.

Alan Tacher announced on Instagram that he had tested positive, along with his wife Cristy Bernal.

In the video, the couple says they are suffering few symptoms, but Bernal has a slight cough and lost her sense of smell and taste. The “Despierta America” personality has a slight headache but that’s about it for now.

They are the fortunate ones, and realize that.

Tacher and Bernal are unsure how they contracted the virus, since they were very careful washing their hands, staying home and social distancing.

Adding to their anxiety and fear over the unknown, the couple has to be quarantined and away from their two small children (Tacher, 49, has three grown children from his previous marriage to Lois Salvana).

In Thursday’s video, they plead with their followers to take COVID-19 seriously.

Their message: Coronavirus is not a hoax so don’t let your guard down.

“For people who say it’s just the flu, it’s not the flu,” said Tacher. “It’s no joke.”

Tacher isn’t the only TV personality who has come down with the highly contagious illness that has turned the world on its head.

Clarissa Molina told viewers this week that she took a home COVID-19 test and the results were “abnormal.” She said she is going to retest at a lab.

Over at WPLG, nine staffers have tested positive in recent days, including anchors Louis Aguirre and Nicole Perez as well as meteorologist Betty Davis, who was briefly hospitalized.
