Miami isn’t a great place to be quarantined, but Hialeah is a lot worse, study says
Is Miami one of the worst cities in which to be quarantined during the coronavirus pandemic?
No. But Hialeah is.
Career-building website Zippia.com reports that out of 99 cities it has analyzed, Hialeah comes in at no. 98. Only Newark, New Jersey, is worse. This news is more crushing than when the city banned socializing at the ventanitas.
Miami wasn’t much better, though. The Magic City came in at no. 58 out of the 99 cities Zippia examined.
The study analyzed the average apartment size, the amount of parkland per person, the percentage of residents who have broadband internet and the number of takeout options.
The best place to be quarantined, according to the study, is Scottsdale, Arizona. The rest of the top 10: Irvine, California; Las Vegas; San Diego; Virginia Beach; Chandler, Arizona; San Jose; Raleigh, N.C.; Orlando; and Austin, Texas.
How did Orlando score so highly? “Spacious housing,” the study reports, adding that the city also “has a surprising amount of take out options, 1596 to be exact.”
Two other Florida cities scored significantly higher than Miami: Jacksonville (11) and Tampa (13). St. Petersburg came in at no. 40.
