Aventura restaurateur Ayesha Curry just got slapped with a $10 million lawsuit
Being in quarantine and having to close her restaurant temporarily aren’t the only stressors for Ayesha Curry right now.
The International Smoke co-owner is reportedly facing a giant breach of contract lawsuit by her former business partner of five years, The Jasmine Brand first reported.
Flutie Entertainment filed a $10 million lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court this week against the entrepreneur, citing “significant and unprecedented results.”
Flutie, headed by up by talent agent Robert Flutie, claims that Curry wouldn’t be where she is today, with TV gigs, books and restaurant deals, without their help, and said the “Great American Baking Show” personality was only known as the wife of NBA star Steph Curry before the company stepped in. And now they want a share of the profits.
“Ayesha Curry terminated her business relationship with disgruntled manager Robert Flutie in early 2019,” said Curry’s lawyer Michael Plonsker in a statement. “We are confident that the legal process will find his accusations nonsensical and completely unfounded.”
Michelin starred chef Michael Mina and Curry opened International Smoke in Aventura last year.
