Who were those guys that performed with Shakira and JLo? Meet Bad Bunny and J Balvin

Surprise!

Oh should we say, sorpresa.

J Balvin and Bad Bunny both popped up in the middle of the action at the Super Bowl LIV halftime show Sunday night at Hard Rock Stadium.

The reggaeton stars, who were rumored to be participating, added even more energy to an already amazingly amped up show. Not to mention even more Latin flavor.

Anyone who didn’t know who these stars were they before got quite the introduction.

In the middle of “I Like It,” with Shak slithering about the stage, BB popped into the scene, dressed like a spaceman, rapping in Spanish. The native Puerto Rican did a mashup of his song “Callaita” while Shakira performed “Chantaje,” a hit with another Colombian reggaetonero, Maluma.

As for J Balvin, the Colombian rapper came out in streetwear and goggles, as JLo literally strutted her stuff, twerking all over the singer who did bits from “Mi Gente” and another hit, “Que Calor.”

So what else do you need to know, football fans?

J Balvin is not new to the music scene at all: He’s been collaborating with English language artists like like DJ Khaled, Black Eyed Peas, DJ Snake and Selena Gomez.

Oh, and remember that time Beyonce sang in Spanish? It was on J Balvin’s monster international hit “Mi Gente” to raise funds for the victims of several natural disasters.

Bad Bunny’s song, “Mia,” featuring Drake was the track of 2019. (Drizzy also piped in, throwing down his best Spanish). A major crossover break for BB was being featured on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” when the show was broadcast from Puerto Rico.

The best part with these two stars? They are friends, not rivals, releasing an album together last summer called “OASIS.”

Want more relevance?

J Balvin’s latest collaboration Is from the “Bad Boys for Life” soundtrack — “Ritmo” featuring the Black Eyed Peas.

Twitter resoundingly approved of both acts.

“Hispanics are taking over!”

“Shakira, Bad Bunny, JLo, J Balvin, OMG...the flavor, the talent.”

“Much respect to @jlo @shakira @badbunny1 @jbalvin for representing our Latino people.”

Welcome to the fiesta. If you can keep up with Shak and JLo during the Super Bowl, you’re gold.
