A hot Miami hotel and a Florida Keys resort make Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List
Condé Nast Traveler’s editors have decided: A hot Miami hotel and a luxury Florida Keys resort are among the best hotels and resorts in the world.
The luxury and lifestyle travel magazine, which also publishes a Readers Choice and a Hot list, has just released the results of its Gold List 2022, which celebrates “the places and experiences our editors carry in their hearts,” the magazine wrote.
East Miami in Brickell and The Moorings Village in the Florida Keys were singled out for praise by editors around the world.
Home to the rooftop bar Sugar, which was named one of the best rooftop bars in the country earlier this year by Big 7 Travel, East Miami was praised for its stunning design by Arquitectonica, including its floor-to-ceiling guest room windows and its fifth floor pool deck.
“It’s a reminder that Miami is vibrant, multicultural, and metropolitan,” Condé Nast Traveler writes.
The Moorings Village in Islamorada, which acted as the backdrop for the Netflix thriller “Bloodline,” is “pristine and picturesque as a postcard,” the magazine writes, going on to praise the eight cottages and the landscaping with palms, banyans and hundreds of orchids. Staying there, Condé Nast Traveler muses, “feels like escaping to a private island.”
Divia Thani, global editorial director of Condé Nast Traveler, said in a statement that the Gold List is one of the most anticipated and most personal roundups the magazine publishes.
“This year marks a truly impactful moment for the brand, with editors around the world — from New York to Dubai to Beijing — joining together to reveal their most beloved hotels, places and experiences,” she said. “These selections reflect the sensibilities and tastes of our editors and audiences across the world, who have as many preferences in common as they do unique traits when it comes to travel.”
Last month, Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers Choice Awards for 2021 ranked Miami Beach’s luxury hostel Freehand Hotel as one of the best hotels in the world, citing its ability to foster community and its popular bar, Broken Shaker. It also ranked hotels in Miami, across Florida and in the Florida Keys.
On its 2021 Hot List, Condé Nast Traveler named Little Palm Island Resort & Spa on Little Torch Key in the Florida Keys one of the best resorts in the world.
