Do you have the cutest cat or dog in South Florida? We’ll know soon
Update: The submission window has ended for your cute dogs and cats. Soon we’ll be posting a poll for readers to have their say on a winner.
While we’re doomscrolling, we often stop at the TikToks of your cute cats and dogs.
How obsessed are we? We lost count how many times we hit replay on that 27-second TikTok clip of a cat arching its body like a Slinky to tumble down a flight of stairs.
So the Miami Herald wants to give you that same dopamine hit: Enter our Cutest Pet Contest, and show us pictures of your furry family members.
What you can win
You can win a prize.
The top dog and top cat will be featured in a story entered into a national Cutest Pet contest.
That’s a lot of eyes adoring your precious babies and spreading much-needed good cheer.
How to enter our Cutest Pet Contest
Snap some adorable shots of your dog or cat — sorry, adorable pets like Mr. Ed the horse and that “Game of Thrones”-sized iguana you rescued from your pool aren’t eligible. Dogs and cats.
Submit a photo — one — of your furry feline or canine. Upload onto our Google Form that you will also fill out.
On the Google form, give us your name and your contact information, meaning email and phone. Don’t worry. We’re not going to publish your email or phone, but we do need to reach you, especially if you’re a finalist and your dog or cat rings the winner’s bell.
We also want to know details, like your dog or cat’s name, its breed if you know, a fun fact about your pet and the city where your dog or cat lives. You’ll see the questions on the Google Form.
The contest is open to residents of Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties.
This isn’t a scientific survey — it’s just for fun. You can even vote more than once.
If we get more than 50 entries for dogs or cats, a committee of pet lovers at our newsroom will vote to get the pool down to 50.
The deadline for submissions is noon, Thursday, Oct. 16.
