Nine fires say this patio grill is a hazard. So, the big box retailer recalled it
Patio grills should cook hamburgers, steaks, hot dogs, maybe vegetables, but definitely not the patio, house or grill masters. That’s why Bass Pro has recalled about 3,700 MR. STEAK four-burner and five-burner gas patio grills in the United States and Canada.
The exact problem, as stated in the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice: “The gas regulator hose with attached fuel gauge can melt if it comes in contact with the bottom of the grill’s firebox, posing a fire hazard.”
And Bass Pro has heard of nine grill fires. The notice claims no injuries or property damage resulted.
This covers models MS-4B-PG with SKU 2472264 and MS-5B-PG, SKU 2472265 with a fuel line not attached on the inside; and SKUs 2366916 and 2366917 if the buyer added a fuel gauge to the regulator assembly. The SKU number is on the receipt. The model number is inside the left compartment door or the back of the grill.
They were sold at Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s and ABT Appliance & Electronics, as well as basspro.com and cabelas.com.
