This supplement powder shouldn’t include green plastic. That’s why it’s recalled

A consumer found a green plastic particle in supplement powder causing GSK Consumer Healthcare to recall five lots of Benefiber Prebiotic Fiber Supplement and Benefiber Healthy Shape Prebiotic Fiber Supplement.

The possibility of green plastic pieces or shavings brings, as the company-written, FDA-posted recall notice says, “a potential risk of choking or physical injury to the soft tissues of the mouth or gastrointestinal tract.”

This covers Lot No. MP8B (expiration date Sep2021) of the Healthy Shape Prebiotic Fiber Supplement, 500G; Nos. UV5C (exp. Oct2021) and 648H (exp. Nov2021) of Benefiber Prebiotic Fiber Supplement, 760G; and Nos. YT2Y (exp. Oct2021) and 7D6E (exp. Nov2021) of Benefiber Prebiotic Fiber Supplement, 500G.

Anyone with these lot numbers should stop using the powder. For a refund or to report a problem, call GSK at 800-452-0051, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Eastern time.
