Organic food company issues second recall in six days over listeria discovery

For the second time in six days, Inspired Organics recalled a product from multiple states after testing found listeria.

On Monday, Organic Almond Butter was yanked after product testing by Inspired Organics turned up listeria, says the company-written, FDA-posted recall notice. Inspired Organics did its own testing after the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development found listeria in a sample of Sunflower Butter, which was recalled last week from 13 states and parts of Canada.

Lot No. 239 of the Organic Almond Butter has a February 2020 best by date and went to Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Anyone with the almond butter should throw it out or return it to the store for a full refund.
