Every little girl wants a pony, and it turns out, every pony needs their own little girl. This video could be the sweetest thing we've ever seen. In it, we get to watch years of two adorable Shetlands with their (now toddler) BFF.

"It began as soon as she came home from the hospital," the on-screen text tells us. The clip features the two ponies curiously approaching the new baby in her mom's arms and sniffing, not quite sure what to make of her at first. But then we get to see her grow up with the perfect sidekicks. "And from then on, every milestone has been shared," the video continues with clips of her first sitting, then crawling, and finally walking with her beasties.

Heartfelt Moments - Melody Silver Copper

"There is nothing quite like being loved by a little girl. The adventures have just begun," the TikTok finishes. It's one of the most heartwarming videos ever.

"Every pony's dream is to have their own little girl to love them," the top comment from @katherine Elliott affirmed. @Michelle Schawel added, "Absolutely true! And beautiful! Nothing like a pony and a girl! Been there, done that. Remarkable creatures they are!" It couldn't be clearer.

It was @GeminiDoll who had the best idea: "You have to dress them up as unicorns immediately and do a photo shoot." We can't wait to see this video.

Why Shetland Ponies Are Great With Kids

Anyone watching this will immediately see how great Shetland Ponies are with children. Shetland Pony Club sums it up well: "Shetland Ponies are very little and cute, and can be the perfect small child's pony. They are very intelligent, loyal, and they like companionship, so they can be an ideal child's friend." As one TikTok commenter, @Hebb, put it, "Shetlands, 'So they do make our-sized humans.'" The pint-sized equines make the perfect starter horses!

The Shetland Pony Club goes on to explain that it's important to set both sides up for success. Shetlands need to have experience with children, and visits with littles should be supervised. Horses all have different personalities, and some will be more suited to working with kids than others.

They also have a reputation for being "a bit cheeky, naughty, and tricky to handle," as Shetland Pony Club describes, so they need an experienced equestrian to train them. They're firmly outdoor friends and won't do well in small spaces without enough exercise.

With the right background and training, a Shetland can be a little kid's best friend. As the years go by, these two will help this little girl cherish every moment.
