Dachshund Refuses To Sit Down in the Car After Mom Forgets His Car Seat

Every dog I've ever been lucky enough to count as a member of my family has been a huge fan of car rides-as long as the car's destination isn't the veterinarian's office, of course.

Some dogs really prefer to be in their own car seat when they're going for a drive, though, especially tiny dogs who might feel more secure being restrained during the ride. It appears that the tiny Dachshund in the video below is one of those pups, so when his mom forgot his car seat just once, he did his very best to make sure it would never happen again.

The Dachshund in question is named Oliver, and his mom, Bri, shared footage of his reaction to discovering that his car seat was missing from her car in a TikTok video.

Since there was no car seat, Oliver decided he wasn't going to sit down at all after his mom put him in the car so she could drop him off at daycare. So he rode all the way there, standing on his hind legs and looking extremely inconvenienced the entire time.

Oliver is clearly a tough customer. I do have to respect him for knowing what he likes, though.

Oliver Really Loves His Car Seat

Finding out just how passionately Oliver feels about his car seat led to a lot of questions about it, and fortunately, his mom was happy to oblige with another video.

Here, we see this sweet pup comfy (and safe) as can be in his seat, with his leg casually thrown over the side like he's finally able to relax after a long day at work.

It's really no wonder that he didn't want to travel without this setup. As his mom said in the caption, he really is a "distinguished gentleman." How dare she expect him to ride without his favorite seat?!

Bri will probably never forget his car seat again, though. Oliver is never going to let her live this mistake down!
