After a loss, it's normal to go through a period of grief and adjustment-and that isn't limited to humans. Thyme, an 8-year-old Sun Conure, knows that journey all too well after the sudden loss of her flock mate, Polly. The two birds had been together for more than four years, and when Polly passed away, Thyme was completely lost without her companion.

After my 58 year old parrot passed away, I was very worried about how her flock mate and best friend, Thyme, would do with out her. It's been several months now and I wanted to give all of you an update on how Thyme is healing and happy after her loss. #parrot#update#loss#adoptdontshop

Thyme's Mom, Wendy Albright, knew the little Parrot needed extra support, so she decided to move her back into the house and reintroduce her to the other birds. Polly and Thyme had lived together at Wendy's office, but after Polly's passing, it was heartbreaking to watch Thyme search for her friend. TikToker @theparrotlady felt that bringing the Parrot home to live alongside Brody, an African Grey Parrot, and Sweet Pea, a Cockatoo, seemed like the best way to help her heal.

The transition took some time, but Thyme's zest for life returned little by little. Wendy provided extra attention and reassurance as the Parrot adjusted to her new surroundings, routines, and feathered housemates.

According to Wendy's recent TikTok video, it didn't take long for Thyme to be happily flying throughout the house, exploring perches, and making herself right at home. She even claimed the kitchen light fixture as her favorite hangout spot.

Many Followers Offered Their Thoughts and Condolences to Thyme

One of Thyme's fans, @firbythebirb, said, "What a touching and powerful example of friendship. Thank you for sharing it with us," and Wendy replied, "Thank you for loving them."

Another viewer, @donnahill9830, shared, "Fly high, Polly, but bless little Thyme. So glad she's settled so well with the other birds."

Today, Wendy says Thyme is fully integrated into the flock and appears genuinely happy in her new environment-a heartwarming reminder that healing doesn't mean forgetting, but learning how to move forward.
