Giant Cane Corso Meets a Tiny Kitten for the First Time and Completely Melts

Some of the world's biggest, most intimidating dogs are the greatest protectors and sweetest, gentlest souls. Diesel, the Cane Corso, may have a tough-looking exterior, but the day he met the new kitten for the first time, he bucked those stereotypes and let his true-blue "big softie" personality shine through.

Diesel is a Cane Corso with a huge heart, and from the moment he met the tiny kitten named Nimbus, it's been beating for his little buddy.

The gentle giant was immediately enamored with such a cute little guy, so much so that he paid extra attention to step not on him-and by the looks of it, the feeling was mutual.

The initial meet-and-greet went well, but Diesel's mom wasn't surprised one bit. Known to fans as a real sweetheart, the adorable Cane Corso seems like he was made to be a big brother to the energetic, carefree bundle of cute kitten chaos!

Much of this may have to do with the training the huge pooch had when he was 6 to 7 months old (which Mom discusses in multiple clips like this one).

He joined the crew around 2 years old, fully socialized, trained, and ready to show his new family what a good boy he is.

As with many other big breeds, never judge a dog (book) by their cover. Diesel is nothing but pure mush when it comes to his kitten brother. Though there's no official post celebrating when Nimbus first joined the family, he's much bigger now and still just as wild and free.

No matter how small or big the kitty is, sweet Diesel still isn't sure how to politely ask Nimbus to get off his bed!

Are Cane Corso Dogs Good With Other Pets?

With a name roughly translated to "bodyguard dog," Cane Corso dogs were originally bred as guardian dogs during ancient Roman times.

Because of their size alone (often weighing 100 pounds or more), they're really good at fending off potential intruders at first sight-that's their real talent!

These pups are incredibly smart, confident, and highly trainable dogs willing to go the extra mile for those they love. Like Diesel, this is a loyal breed who loves to the nth degree, whether it's for their humans or even a tiny new kitten
