Trader Joe's Viral Mini Totes Are Coming Back In June - This Time With the Cutest Summery Detail
If you haven't heard about the viral Trader Joe's mini totes, you've probably seen them around. Starting in 2024, the brand has released them annually to huge fanfare (and massive frenzy). The little bags are petite - 13" inches long, 11" tall, and 6" wide - and made of a blend of cotton and polyester.
They're cute, fun, and, at just $2.99, a novelty purchase that earns you a big dose of serotonin for a very little investment. They're also (drumroll, please) coming back. Here's what to know about the upcoming drop.
Striped Mini Tote Bags Will Launch at Trader Joe's for $2.99
Earlier today, USA Today broke the news: new, striped versions of the mini tote bags will launch on June 17 at Trader Joe's. The new line will include striped bags in pale shades of green, pink, blue, and brown.
A Trader Joe's rep also told USA Today that supplies will be limited (dun-dun-dun). As in the past, you'll want to set a calendar invite for yourself with regular reminders, alert those closest to you, and do your best to keep the news from your enemies.

Mini Totes: A Brief History
TJ's mini totes first came on the scene in Februay of 2024 - and quickly went viral (some stores even had to limit the number of totes sold per customer). Since the first batch sold out, there have been others: a Halloween design this past fall, a teeny tiny micro tote not long after, and, just last month, a tiny insulated tote. In other words, Trader Joe's knows what people want (more totes) and has consistently provided them.
The (Rave) Reactions
Online, mini tote fans are behaving, predictably, extremely chill about this news. On the Trader Joe 's-obsessed Instagram account, which has 1.1 million followers, it was previewed yesterday, sparking Beatles-level mania in the comments.
"LET US BREATHE," wrote one commenter, seeming to reference how quickly new minis are coming out and how much energy it will take to procure one. "These bags are the death of me," said another user. "I keep telling myself I am done buying them, but they continue to release different colors and styles."
On the other hand, some users are more realistic about their odds of getting their hands on a mini striped tote. "I can't get excited about these anymore because they are all gone for us people who just want one to use...not a bunch to sell," said a user, likely referring to the massive resale market for TJ's mini totes.
