We all have relatives who rub us the wrong way. Whether it's that nosy aunt who doesn't know when to stop prying or that overly opinionated grandparent who takes everything too seriously, family dynamics can get a little dicey.

Lexi the black Labrador clearly has some baggage with her Dachshund cousin, Chip, and was far from pleased when she heard he was stopping by.

In the TikTok from @livinlavitalexi, the Labrador intently listened as her mom shared some distressing news.

"All right, in a couple of minutes, your cousin Chip is coming over," Lexi's mom said as the perplexed pooch absorbed the announcement. "He's not here yet - he's on the way."

Though she didn't utter one single bark or groan, Lexi's expression spoke volumes. The look on her face was one of disappointment mingled with dread.

"You need to be kind to your cousin Chip," the canine cutie's mom explained as Lexi looked down, hoping this was all a bad dream. Apparently, her mom knew Lexi wouldn't be very receptive to the visit.

"Don't make that face," her mom gently reprimanded. "Chip is not going to beat you up. He wants to be your cousin friend, okay? Are you going to be nice and gentle to Chip? All right, we''ll see when he's here."

Lexi's head tilts and despondent eyes didn't show much promise for a joyful reunion.

Chip Made an Entrance

From Lexi's reaction, one would assume that Chip is a large, rambunctious dog like a Rottweiler or Cane Corso. But he turned out to be a tiny Dachshund with a big presence.

When he arrived at Lexi's home, Chip immediately sought out his cousin. Lexi bypassed giving a warm welcome and automatically headed for another room, but Chip was not deterred. He high-tailed it after her and was determined to mingle, whether Lexi liked it or not.

Viewers of the video sided with Lexi and felt she was justified in her feelings.

"I knew instantly that Chip was the problem," one remarked.

"Big or small…. [Lexi] simply prefers being an only child in the house," another pointed out.

"As soon as the video started, I knew it was going to be a Dachshund," a follower posted.

"Chip is an absolute menace to society," someone noted.

Although the video ended before showing the rest of Lexi and Chip's interaction, it's easy to assume how the mini family gathering unfolded.
